And yeah, the Samsung panel lottery is frustrating. The problem started when I decided to do a reboot after installing some programs. When I opened the overlay this time, it became pretty clear that the profile had, in fact, been sticking before. Not that it is vital but still bugs me quite a bit since I like my colors neutral and calibrated. weblink
I Just had to get a new machine and while it calibrated fine, it wasn't loading the Spyder profile on boot (Win 10). Restarted and everything appeared as it should. Now, Source games aren't stealing the profile, but other games don't act the same... and i actually found that at least for me, it's one game in particular that causes issues and then seems to "infect" everything else. Your suggestion not only corrected my partially related issue, but it went a step further and addressed the original issue you inquired about(but for me, not you), which I wasn't too
I can't even get the profile to load without creating another profile and switching between the two (that is, make switch the default to the wrong one, then switch the default Most of the time but not always, so this is pretty random. I wish I had more to offer, but the solution you gave me somehow completely works on my end, but only partially on yours.
