Later versions of SharePoint, such as SharePoint_2016 or SharePoint Online don't use ActiveX so you can use 64-bit Office and Internet Explorer. If you're using Windows 10 and are having issues with Microsoft Edge, try Internet_Explorer_11. I would not be surprised if the cause of this problem turs out to be traceable to a conflict with such a program. . So I downloaded Malwarebyte Anti-malware, ran it for 15-20 & let it quarantine 50+ problems & low & behold all is fixed in IE. i found the .dll that was cousing the conflict…. It would have been a better Driver- which allowed better resolution- but was not compatible with IE-11 My Browser would not even open!!!
