Definitely a puzzling one, can't seem to find any info on it. Can't figure out what is causing that as yet. For reasons I have detailed elsewhere on Daniweb, there is no way in hell we will consider a Dell system. ... anyone got a clue what the beeps are trying to tell me?

- Ignore the instructions to write down settings...that is not required today and is a carryover tactic from long ago in computer time.I don't know what your 12-disk set is...but XP fits
- used my power supply tester & it showed good all lites on.
- The fan is running.
- It is usually hibernating.
- It's almost like it needs to warm up?

Make and use those next. Nothing as of yet has worked. BIOS is actually firmware, the software that is programmed into a ROM (Read-Only Memory) chip built onto the motherboard of a computer. what was done to the system shortly before this started happening?
Almost like it needs to warm up, but then when I changed WOL to enable, its perfectly fine. If you can do that, you should be able to re-connect the drives and reload the Operating System. I had many problems with viruses and such - the hp recovery cd disk would not work to reinstall windows again so bought a new Novatech pc preinstalled with XP Home Login now.
