HP LaserJet 5 With USB-Parallel Only Recognised After Replugging USB

I've just spent £200 of my own money on MS chargeable tech support to attempt to resolve damaged-o/s-wont-print-via-USB issues. (Win7 Pro x64 box.) MS staff worked valiantly but hopelessly on this, I have downloaded the drivers which should be compatible with win 7 directly from the Canon website. Have tried to install latest drivers but Nvidia cannot find Graphics Card. But i keep getting the same result - the speakers and right click option are missing.Where i can download drivers for Windows 10 on bootcamp 6 or what other way to have a peek here

Has anyone had this problem or seen a workaround for it? With mine, it prints fine, but only if I plug the USB cable in after switching the printer on. Trim is enabled as I run fsutil... The 5L icon in Devices and Printers is grayed out and its properties box shows status = offline, with no apparent way to set it online.

Although it appears in Windows Printers correctly, it won't print unless the USB wire is unplugged and then plugged back in again. NOT Properties and not "Printing preferences".
